Mesa seeks a Mechanical Engineering Intern who will work under the direction of Mesa Senior/Principal Engineers, Designers and Engineering Managers. The ideal candidate must be a rising junior or senior in good standing in an ABET accredited college/university with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 point scale.

General Responsibilities Include: 

  • Applies basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices to design in the area of power generation.
  • On a task basis, assist in the preparation and completion of discipline engineering designs and supporting documentation such as design criteria, calculations, drawings and specifications.
  • Works closely with design team and other substation design disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
  • Quickly become familiar with client and Mesa Policies and Business Unit procedures, complies with procedural requirements for document/deliverable generation.
  • Must be willing to perform self-study in order to get up to speed learning power generation design principles.
  • Not only performs quality work but also performs a self-check of his/her own work prior to submittal to senior Mesa designers/engineers. 
  • Manages personal task assignments.
