Mesa seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer/I&C with an emphasis on power generation. Multi-discipline projects in hydro, gas and fossil power generating facility experience is required. Duke, TVA, Exelon, Dominion or other power industry experience is desired. Desired experience includes low voltage and medium voltage power distribution, motor controls for both low voltage and medium voltage, interfacing industrial processes to DCS and/or PLC systems and the use of power distribution system modeling software (ETAP or similar). Individual must have the ability to interpret, modifying, and developing single lines, AC/DC elementaries, panel front views, wiring diagrams, equipment drawings, and bills of materials. AutoCAD/MicroStation experience is a plus.

Candidate must be a leader, capable of coordinating engineering and design efforts, working within a team, and comfortable being in front of peers and clients leading/conducting meetings.  At times job duties will require coordinating with project managers, and client to develop proposal documents and estimates to facilitate bidding on work. Work will mostly center around modifications and upgrades in existing facilities. Experience in relay protection would be a plus.

Education/Experience/Licensure:

  • 4 Year BSEE or higher education from ABET accredited school of engineering
  • 10+ years of progressive experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE)

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the engineering efforts on project design through the different project milestones from start to finish
  • Work and coordinating with project managers to develop proposal documents and estimates for bidding or change orders
  • Work with drafters, designers, and other engineers on preparation and check of design drawings and design packages
  • Perform design analysis on ETAP and/or SKM
  • Participation in occasional site visits, Field walkdowns, or client meetings at client location may be required
  • Strict adherence to electrical codes and standards including NEC
