Meritus Health is officially seeking accreditation and licensure to open a proposed four-year osteopathic medical school in Hagerstown.
The Director of Research for the proposed Meritus School of Osteopathic Medicine, reporting to the Associate Dean of Research and Innovation, will be responsible for managing the efforts and activities for the research department and for maintaining a competitive position and profitability in the research sector with other osteopathic medical schools, allopathic medicals schools, residency programs, commercial programs, facility projects and community physician projects. Works with grant manager, and Associate deans to ensure research department functions within a broader context.
Education - BS in science related field or equivalent 5 years’ experience as research manager
Experience - 5 years of progressive management experience. Research methodology. Able to mentor and advise personnel of situations that need immediate follow up
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities - Ability to analyze different health problems to determine meaningful ways to pursue change. Ability to manage clinical laboratory and work in a clinical setting. Able to design and manage the laboratory space.Detailed orientation and communication
