Description
- Assists the Vice President, Nursing Services/CNO in executive-level management of resources, strategic planning and development of policies and procedures which ensure congruence with the mission and philosophy of the health system.
- Maintains 24 hour accountability for area of service. Provides administrative and financial accountability for planning, directing, staffing, coordinating, and controlling functions and activities for areas of service.
- Participates in the development and implementation of the medical center business and nursing strategic plan. Systematically enhances the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, nursing services administration, and the delivery of services. Adheres to ethical principles of practice as defined by the Nurse Practice Act and the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.
- Demonstrated competency with patient care systems, standards and outcomes management required.
- Demonstrated effective communication skills, verbal and written, necessary to exchange information and collaborate with a wide variety of individuals.
- Effective speaking skills necessary to give presentations/training to physicians, Senior Management, patients, families, team members and medical center staff.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a multi-million dollar health enterprise required. Experience in managing initiatives for performance improvement required. Use of computer systems applications required.
