Calling all data nerds, bring your interest in data analytics to Meritus Health – Washington County’s premier health system with 3,000+ employees helping serve over 100,000 patients annually – to enhance people’s lives in a direct and measurable way!
Come join our analytics team as a Business Intelligence Developer as we empower clinicians, business leaders and staff with data-driven strategies and tools to improve the quality of our care and the lives of our patients.
Some background on the environment and team you’ll be joining:
In the last 16 months, we’ve completely rebuilt our analytics infrastructure: a custom, light-weight data warehouse now powers a series of Microsoft Power BI “apps,” which encompass hundreds of metrics and allow users to explore data in consistent ways (e.g. by Unit/Department/Provider/Service Line/Diagnosis/CPT-HCPCS Code/the works) and answer secondary questions, in a scalable way.
We’re finalizing development on new geospatial analysis tech and combining it with census data to create a population health dream. And as our analytics content expands to cover all bases, we’ll begin doing more data science and advanced analytics.
We’re using industry-standard tools like Jira, Confluence, Git, Microsoft SQL Server, Power BI, JavaScript, C#, Python, Jenkins and Amazon Webservices, paired with Silicon Valley-informed develops processes that ensure quality and promote output.
The Analytics team works alongside a sister R&D engineering team that has recently built a custom telehealth solution from scratch (“MeritusNow”), a data exploration tool (“Data Atlas”) and a number of high-profile custom software projects that affect hundreds of thousands of patients and thousands of employees.
Our ideal Business Intelligence Developer will:
- Communicate effectively – while working closely with clinicians, researchers and administrative/operational staff to understand, define, prototype, publish and maintain data analytics and reports.
- Mix technical skills (SQL) with UI/UX Design – while developing intuitive, compelling visualizations/dashboards using Microsoft Power BI, SQL Server Analytics+Reporting Services, R, Python, others
- Pull their own DevOps weight – by contributing to our team’s culture of continuous, dependable, sustainable analytics and software development. We do light-weight data governance, version control, wiki-docs, automated testing/build/deployment--the works.
- Be detail/solution-oriented – and pay close attention to workflows and outcomes, and collaborate with internal departments, external organizations, and other developers and engineers to refine our suite of analytics products.
- Be a technical Sherlock Holmes – when troubleshooting data models, bugs, configurations, and app/data integrity across many tools in a complex, technical environment.
- Be a sprinter – while applying agile software development principles to daily work (including JIRA and Github).
- Earn Certifications – in Epic’s Clarity, Cache Programming, and other modules on Meritus’ dime.
