Description

This position of Field Operations Planner serves to plan, coordinate, and execute training events, to include hands-on demonstrations and formal instruction, for NNSA's Office of Nuclear Incident Response (NA-84). This position requires extensive knowledge and background in Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) or Public Safety Bomb Technician operations with a focus on Counter Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) response procedures. This role supports the NNSA/FBI partnership, capability forward initiative, as directed by the National Security Council (NSC).

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Input & distribute conference call notes
  • Manage training aids
  • Ensure availability and scheduling of appropriate training sites at field locations
  • Manage travel arrangements
  • Schedule radiological sources (when applicable)
  • Ensure all necessary training materials and personnel are coordinated
  • Develop scenarios for drills (when applicable)
  • Collaborate with multiple training participants and agencies to ensure training events are prepared for and well executed.
  • Utilize the asset and calendar management software for training event scheduling and logistics.
  • Manage the logistics of ensuring materials and equipment are delivered onsite and operable for all scheduled training events.
  • Gather and track course related data such as course evaluations, test & performance results, and other pertinent metrics as required.
  • Assist in the development and lifecycle maintenance of applicable training curriculum.
  • Gain and maintain subject matter expertise in all tools, techniques, procedures and curriculum as assigned.
  • Manage the implementation of complex curriculum (classroom, field and hands-on training).
  • Travel up to 35% to attend training events is necessary and required

Minimum Qualifications

  • Six years of Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD)/Public Safety Bomb Technician experience with relevant domestic-response CWMD experience –OR- significant technical experience supporting FBI Regional Render-Safe training and operations
  • Formal instructor experience training individuals and groups up to twenty
  • Demonstratable leadership skills with diverse groups of people having varying levels of education.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, interpersonal, communication and instructional skills, both in the field and classroom.
  • High School Diploma
  • Eligible for a Q Clearance
  • US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications

  • Military experience as a member of a SMU, CRF, 21st EOD or similar
  • Bomb Technician experience as a member of RRST Level 5, RSU
  • Formal instructor experience as a cadre member at NEODS, HDS, TEU1/TEU2, DNWS or similar
