Position: Industrial/Process Engineer

As an Industrial/Process Engineer at McGard, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing our manufacturing processes, increasing productivity, ensuring the highest standards of quality, and in implementing our automation-based strategic plan. You'll have the opportunity to apply your expertise to streamline operations, optimize workflows, and implement innovative solutions to drive continuous improvement. 

Responsibility:

Support McGard manufacturing, sorting, and assembly processes through day-to-day process involvement and focused project work to drive continuous improvement on the floor.

  • Lead process improvement projects to reduce costs, increase efficiency and reduce waste while maintaining or exceeding quality and safety standards.
  • Help establish, implement, and maintain efficient manufacturing processes through KPI tracking.
  • Analyze process metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Utilize Lean Six Sigma methodologies to drive improvements.
  • Assess operators’ work and propose ergonomic solutions.
  • Develop and maintain effective documentation to communicate our manufacturing and assembly processes to a diverse workforce.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to introduce new technologies to the floor.
  • Work with individuals at all levels of the company.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering: Industrial (BSIE), Mechanical (BSME).
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and orally.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Proficient in PFMEA’s, SOP’s, and process mapping.
  • Possess strong data analysis skills.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with floor level supervisors and associates in the dynamic manufacturing and assembly environment.
  • Ability to lead manufacturing or floor/operator teams in problem solving and other improvement efforts.
  • Ability to work in cross functional team setting, and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to effectively manage projects; project goals, known constraints, cost goals and due dates.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Three plus (3+) years of related work experience in an automated facility.
  • LEAN, six-sigma training (Six-Sigma Green Belt at a minimum).
  • Experience working on process development (line balancing, establishing process metrics, TAKT time, process control, etc.)
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Experience with Minitab a plus.
