Buffer Machine Operator

1^st Shift 5AM – 3:30PM; Monday – Thursday; 4, 10-hour shifts; $17.90 per hour

3rd Shift 10PM - 6:30AM; Sunday - Thursday; $21.60 per hour, includes 20% shift differential

About the Position 

• Sets up and operates semi-automatic Harper buffing machine.
• Selects grade of abrasive flaps and installs on each wheel.
• Selects proper spindle tips.
• Measures and sets angle of buff wheels in relation to parts being run.
• Starts conveyor, flap wheels and loads parts on spindle.
• Observes lights, dials, and gauges, pushes buttons on panel to adjust operating conditions.
• Removes buffed parts from spindle and examines them to ensure surface conditions meet specifications.
• Physical demands include repetitive lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds, bending, and standing for long periods of time. Frequently reaching with hands and arms. Requires close vision.

What You Have to Offer

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbally.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Mechanical/technical experience in manufacturing preferred.
