Job Description

The HR/People Supervisor focuses on the execution of People processes and tools in assigned Profit Center(s). This individual advises and provides direction as appropriate to Operations Managers, Operations Supervisors and restaurant staff on HR-related issues.

With support from the HR Manager, he/she demonstrates Global Community of Experts to provide experienced assistance to company-owned restaurants.

Responsibilities:

  • Works with Ops Manager(s) to identify key People priorities across the Profit Center(s) and help execute the Profit Center People action plan aligned with the National People Strategy
  • With the HR Manager, contributes to the execution of the Region’s People Plan
  • Provides coaching, training, counsel and direction to Operations
  • Assists People leaders and restaurant managers in conducting onboarding/orientation and exit/offboarding
  • Partners with Operations to deliver on all aspects of staffing including performance management, retention, recruitment, interviewing, selection and orientation
  • Oversees required employee documentation and file administration
  • Performs crew performance appraisal and wage management
  • Understands restaurant-level benefits, incentives and awards and leading performance standards
  • Proper management of leaves of absences and Worker’s Comp cases
  • Disciplinary actions including termination
  • Leads the People aspect of restaurant divestitures/acquisitions
  • Educates, informs and assess to ensure restaurants execute and comply with People initiatives and tools
  • Employee engagement and commitment programs
  • Workforce Planning - effectively anticipate restaurant management needs, help Ops Supervisors and General Managers develop and execute a plan
  • Succession Planning - Coach and advise partners to ensure a robust talent pipeline to meet the needs of the restaurants
  • Develops and helps ensure development of GMs, AGMs and RTLs
  • Supports education, training and coaching to help People leaders be more effective
  • Partners with Operations Supervisors to implement and ensure proper execution of People policies and practices
  • Partners with HR Manager and Employee Relations COE to ensure employee engagement initiatives are effectively executed including investigations into potential violations
  • Cultivates a fair, equitable, and respectful work environment
  • Assists in deploying change initiatives through education and training for Operations staff and restaurant management

*This role will require regular travel (50%+) within the assigned market (Orlando).*

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; BA/BS degree in HR related field preferred
  • Talent Management, Staffing, and/or HR experience
  • Previous McDonald's Operations or HR experience preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • BA/BS Degree
  • Managerial experience preferred
  • Highly developed communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills and professionalism
  • Demonstrable experience in collaborating and partnering with officer-level individuals 
  • Great teammate and experience working in a dynamic and changing environment
  • Strong project management and meeting facilitation skills and experience
