Job Description
McDonald’s is seeking a Director to join our Center HR Team supporting People Transformation to support our Global Technology Team. This person will lead the effective planning, integration, coordination and execution of people transformation deliverables to the Global Technology function. You will focus on overseeing all sequencing, resourcing and execution of new and in-flight HR initiatives with stakeholder engagement as a priority. You will report to Center HR, with a strong dotted line to the EVP, Global Technology. You will lead a cross-functional Global People working team to deliver initiatives effectively, in particular coordinating closely with the Organization Effectiveness, Global Total Rewards, Global Talent, and Learning and Development teams.
Responsibilities:
- In collaboration with the Organization Effectiveness (OE) team and Global Technology Senior Leadership Team (GTSLT), crafts strategic plans to continue to evolve the Global Technology organization. This includes but is not limited to: shifting organization structures as needed to support product-centric ways of working using agile principles across teams; aligning team models to flawlessly deploy and calibrate products created with in-house engineering and data; co-shaping learning and development functional strategy with L&D dedicated resource to enable evolution of the function.
- Enable organizational evolution by effective influencing of functional talent management and development plans.
- Aligns ongoing and planned executions of organizational structure and ways of working initiatives.
- Coordinates closely with Global Technology’s internal agile and change management resources to minimize misalignment between HR and functional project plans
- Collaborates closely with Global People CoE’s as well as HRBP for the function to sequence deployment of initiatives and influence Global Tech’s people strategy
- Consults with project workstream owners to identify project charters, structures, roles, resource requirements, and governance structures
- In partnership with the Global L&D Functional and Leadership team, defines the learning needs of the function and co-creates functional learning strategy accordingly
- Interfaces directly with Leadership, Vendors, initiative stakeholders and workstream owners to identify potential issues, concerns, and opportunities for improvement (minimize blocked time and bottlenecks)
- Subject matter expert and primary point of contact for transformation workstreams, develops understanding and expertise across HR functions, responsible for project plan and establishing key deadlines within overall long-term transformation
- Reports on initiative progress, deliverables, and metrics to HRBP and CIO. Develops and Leads update meetings to Global People function GTSLT.
Qualifications
- Exceptional strategic abilities to develop transformation strategy for a large global workforce driving a key pillar of McDonald’s business growth plans
- Incredible attention to detail and ability to manage complex logistics
- Quick assimilation to understanding of McDonald’s HR processes and objectives
- Ability to quickly identify timing and resourcing bottlenecks and adapt plans to minimize downtime
- Effective relationship builder capable of communicating with stakeholders across HR and Technology functions and levels of seniority
- Influential talent leader capable of driving work through lateral relationships without direct hierarchical span of control
- Deep knowledge of project management best practices and ability to coach initiative owners
- Previous organizational transformation, HR business partner, and/or change management experience preferred
- Previous HR experience with a technology organization preferred
- Microsoft Suite of Products
- Bachelor’s Degree
