Job Description
The Sr. Logistics Sourcing Analyst will lead Carrier Development and Sourcing Projects across North American Spend Categories for MAT Holdings business units. The ideal candidate for this role will demonstrate a high level of critical thought, category expertise across multiple logistics categories, and advanced data analytics skills. This position will be based out of Long Grove, IL. Some month-to-month travel between sites will be required.
Principle Responsibilities
- Drive TCO and CI Programs throughout MAT Holdings Core Carrier Network
- Oversee Logistics Sourcing Projects and Savings Tracking
- Support Category Plans and Action Item Lists
- Support Freight Pay and Audit Outsourcing Initiatives
- Support Selection, Implementation, and Training of Shared Logistics Benchmarking and Rate Maintenance Tools
- Partner with SC and OM Stakeholders on Playbook Strategies
- Work with Site Stakeholders to help foster Positive Shipper Profile Attributes
Qualifications
Competencies
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required
- A basic knowledge of load planning with a large-scale ERP or TMS platform
- Understanding Transpiration modes and pricing for TL, LTL, Parcel, Ocean, Air, and Dray preferred.
- A demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment, to take the initiative, to work independently of day-to-day supervision, and to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
- Must be able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Highly detail-oriented with the ability to handle shifting deadlines and priorities
- Understanding of 3rd party carrier development
- High level of commitment, sound judgment, excellent follow-through, and initiative
- Adapts to changes in the work environment; Manages competing demands; Changes approach or method to best fit the situation; Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree required – Degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Finance preferred
- 5 to 7 years of experience in a logistics operations or analytics-related position is a plus
