The Senior Fixed Asset Accountant will be responsible for all aspects of accounting and reporting for fixed assets.  This position will collaborate with project owners to ensure fixed assets and construction in process (CIP) are accounted for timely, accurately and in accordance with GAAP and tax related requirements.  This is a new position reporting to the Assistant Corporate Controller. 

Highlights of your role

  • Record monthly acquisitions, dispositions and depreciation in the fixed asset system.
  • Manage the month-end close process for fixed assets to accomplish it efficiently, accurately and timely.  
  • Prepare fixed asset and CIP account reconciliations each month with supporting documentation to verify accuracy of balance sheet reporting.
  • Communicate and coordinate with project owners regarding the status of projects and CIP aging.
  • Prepare various fixed asset schedules to support year-end financial and tax reporting requirements.
  • Support the audit process with inquiries related to fixed assets.
  • Research and interpret accounting policy and tax regulations to resolve questions related to fixed asset accounting.

You're a good fit if you have

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
  • Competent in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and tax considerations specific to fixed assets.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience, fixed asset accounting is preferred.
  • Experience using FAS fixed asset software is preferred but not required.
  • Act diligently, ethically and in accordance with applicable technical and professional standards.
