Job Purpose:
In this position, you will be an important member of the Maintenance team. You will be responsible for the maintenance and electrical, upkeep and performance of the HVAC, boiler and condensate equipment and processes needed to successfully reach our operational goals.
Essential Functions:
- Possess safe work habits and maintain good housekeeping at all times.
- Verify equipment is operational and always performing within specifications.
- Troubleshoot and repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring on HVAC/R commercial and residential systems and equipment. Including adding and reclaiming refrigerants.
- Provide alternative solutions to mechanical problems on equipment when needed.
- Maintain the required records in CMMS regarding work required and performed as well as accurately logging any inventory transactions that may be required.
- Maintain equipment through preventative maintenance.
- Working at elevations on ladders and aerial lift platforms.
- Able to understand equipment manuals including proper maintenance, troubleshooting, BOM's, etc.
- Must attend safety training and learn safety protocols to preform job duties safely.
- Operate equipment to support operations needs and to better understand the processes they are expected to perform.
Key competencies / skills:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and skills.
- The ability to read electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics to diagnose equipment issues.
- The ability to work well independently with a focus to get things done right.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to understand HVAC and facility systems and equipment.
- Willing to obtain Minnesota Special Engineer License for boiler operation.
- Strong knowledge of wiring, piping, troubleshooting and equipment controls
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
- Physically capable of performing job duties, including working at elevated heights.
- Ability to train on ARC flash and obtain Registered Unlicensed Electrician License.
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm – Drive for results.
- Communication and collaboration skills, ability to work cross-functionally.
Qualifications:
- EPA certification for handling refrigerant.
- 2-year degree or related work experience in HVAC/R
