As an ETL Architect, you will be responsible for the design, development, and deployment of ETL processes from start to finish. Leading by example, you will guide data engineers toward best-in-class data pipelines and develop standards for streamlined ETL development. In addition to writing code, you will offer strategic thinking and thought leadership to optimize and scale Marvin’s data platform and architecture per Marvin business requirements. 

Highlights of your role

  • Multiple years of cloud data warehouse experience supporting a modern data architecture, databases, storage, and data analysis using Snowflake and DBT.
  • Proficiency in cloud services, with a focus on Snowflake and Azure.
  • Experience with data ingestion tools (Fivetran preferred).
  • Data engineering skills in one or more ETL tools (DBT preferred).
  • Excellent understanding of database capabilities for reporting, analytics, and ETL workloads.
  • Experience designing and developing complex SQL scripts that are fast and efficient.
  • Ability to map source data and design/build dimensional models that deliver analytics.
  • Excellent understanding of reporting and analytics deployments (Power BI, Qlik).
  • Ability to understand complex business operations, organizational goals, and the ability to design solutions that achieve them.
  • Ability to work with business analysts and product owners to understand business processes and needs.
  • Ability to understand scoping, documentation, and design architecture for complex business analytics problems.
  • Strong experience supporting stakeholders and assisting them with data-related technical issues.
  • Experience designing and developing scripts using Python.

You’re a good fit if you have 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years as a Data or ETL Engineer with 2+ years’ experience developing data on Snowflake and/or DBT or similar.
  • 5+ years working on an Enterprise Data team.
  • 5+ years data model design responsibility.
  • 2+ years on an agile team.
