Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW

3 days a week from 9:00am – 5:00pm and 2 days from 11:00am – 7:30pm.

Brief overview of the role and its expectations.

  • Coordinate and schedule the day to day maintenance and operations activities of the facility. Computer skills and knowledge in the use of a software-based program system. This position ensures that all equipment is functioning at peak performance  preventive maintenance measures are performed, and repairs are executed in a timely and efficient manner.      

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for :

  • Organize and assign workflow and ensuring employees understand their duties or delegated work tasks.
  • Assessing the work performance of the team and identifying any areas that need improvement.
  • Catalog and maintain spare parts inventor.
  • Communicate updates to managers and operations.
  • Ensure the business goals, deadlines and performance standards are met.
  • Training and onboarding of new hires to insure they understand their roles and responsibilities.
  • Monitor employee productivity and preventive maintenance activities using a software-based program system.
  • Maintain and perform basic troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical aspects of  

      all Material Handling Equipment (MHE) on site, including conveyor systems, sortation,

      and scale.

  • Demonstrate mechanical proficiency for hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and  

      AC/DC electrical motors and drives.

  • Adjust, reset, repair, or replace mechanical components (belts, chains, cables) and

      wear parts (guides, bearings, wheels, rollers, pulleys)

  • Maintain and troubleshoot motors, photo eyes, relays, proximity sensors, solenoids,  

      motor starters, etc.

  • Clean, lubricate, and adjust equipment when necessary. Use appropriate job plans,

      procedures, and manuals when perform preventative maintenance on facility

      equipment (i.e. forklifts, conveyor system, HVAC, air compressors and dryers, and

      balers)

  • Perform electrical maintenance and repair/replace of various electrical circuits and

      related electronic equipment, using tools such as multi-meters and infrared

      thermometers.

  • Read and understand basic electrical and electronic schematics.
  • Use computer asset management system to create and close work orders with

      appropriate data (labor hours, downtime, problem/cause/remedy, and parts used)

  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships across all depts. and levels of the

      organization. Follow appropriate safety procedures and use Personal Protective

      Equipment (PPE) while maintaining equipment (Lock Out/Tag Out, Hot Permit etc.)

  • Ensure a safe work environment by eliminating potential equipment safety hazard.

      familiar with wiring diagrams, symbols and electrical measuring / work order

      management.

  • Routine office and warehouse repairs (to include carpentry, painting, electrical and

      plumbing)

  • Maintaining spare parts for Material Handling Equipment and other mechanical

      systems.

  • Ensuring that all company tools are in working order and secured at all times.
  • Adhering to OSHA requirements.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, secure, and orderly facility.
  • Work with outside contractors regarding routine preventative maintenance and emergency service calls, ensure that security procedures and safe work practices are followed.
  • Assist in other departments as needed.
  • Weekend / off-shift work required to support maintenance of equipment off distribution operations hours.
  • Work overtime as needed. Participate in on call
  • Carry out additional projects/tasks as assigned and needed

Qualifications

  • 5yrs. Previous experience in managing a facility and leading a maintenance team, preferable in a distribution center facility.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical motors and circuits
  • High level of overall mechanical repair knowledge and experience with conveyor systems required.
  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting MMEH and its peripherals.
  • Inventory management, equipment maintenance, data entry, and basic computer skills required.
  • Familiarity with experience with Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) program and Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) preferred.
  • Time management and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels, and work both independently and as a member of a team.
  • Flexibility with daily task assignments and ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to follow instructions quickly and accurately.
  • Deals with confidential information and/or issues using discretion and judgment.
  • Preferred to have a forklift certification.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift regularly across an 8-hour shift.

Additional Information

LVMH Inc. uses the published salary range as a guideline to provide our employees with market competitive pay while allowing for flexibility to recognize and reward various levels of expertise, performance and tenure.

While the published salary range is a good faith reflection of the targeted salary level for the position, LVMH Inc. reserves the right to pay outside of the published salary range of $100,000.00 - $120,000.00.
