Structural Engineer
Candidate must be a licensed PE in the State of Florida, or able to be licensed through other existing state license.
Responsibilities include foundation design, wind load design, and structural building design for residential and light commercial construction at a full-service architectural and engineering office. Good working knowledge of the structural load path and be able to support design for all foundations and load path connections per Florida Building Code. Strong working knowledge of ACI 318, ASCE 7, Minimum Design Loads and Associated Criteria for Buildings and Other Structures, and ASD and LRFD design principals for buildings. This is a full charge corporate officer position, Vice President of Engineering.
Requirements:
- Licensed professional engineer.
- Able to perform finite element analysis and utilize that in the design of foundations and conceptions of buildings to mitigate gravity and wind loads.
- AutoCAD or Revit experience is a plus.
- Ability to read & interpret construction plans and specs.
- Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications, design analysis, and construction cost estimates.
- Perform construction-related services including shop drawing reviews, response to requests for information, periodic construction site observation, and occasional specialized structural inspections.
- Collaborate with architects and designers and building contractors on the design and construction of projects.
- 5+ years of experience engineering experience.
