Architectural Project Manager – National Retail Programs | Reston, VA (Hybrid) | Mid-Senior Level

About the Role

We are seeking an Architectural Project Manager to lead national retail rollout programs, including convenience stores, fuel stations, and branded outlets. This role involves managing client relationships, overseeing prototype consistency across multiple states, and guiding projects from schematic design through construction administration. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in multi-site retail programs, strong technical and leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate across disciplines to deliver impactful environments.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the primary client liaison, building trusted relationships and guiding stakeholders through the design and delivery process

  • Lead full project lifecycles, including schematic design, entitlements, documentation, QA/QC, and construction administration

  • Mentor staff on code interpretation, coordination, and detailing standards

  • Manage jurisdictional approvals, regulatory submissions, and presentations to authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs)

  • Coordinate across disciplines (MEP, civil, interiors, branding, procurement) to ensure prototype consistency

  • Prepare proposals, contracts, fee estimates, schedules, and oversee project budgets and change directives

  • Support bid packaging, contractor communications, and construction-phase services

  • Travel occasionally for site visits and client meetings

What You Bring

  • 8–12 years of architectural experience, preferably with national retail, convenience rollouts, or multi-site programs

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture; professional licensure preferred or in progress

  • Proven experience with prototype design and rollout across multiple jurisdictions

  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; strong knowledge of current building codes and construction standards

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills across teams and regulatory agencies

  • U.S. work authorization required
