Salary Range: $121,000 – $143,000 annually (DOE)
Total Compensation Package: $135,000 – $160,000+ (including benefits, PTO, and incentives)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer (PE) to join our Phoenix office. This on-site role is responsible for the design, layout, and coordination of electrical systems across diverse commercial, industrial, and multi-sector projects.
The ideal candidate will bring 8+ years of electrical design experience, strong leadership capabilities, and deep knowledge of electrical codes. This role will also mentor junior staff while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest technical standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform electrical engineering calculations, system layouts, and designs in compliance with NEC, NFPA, IBC, and other building codes.
Independently manage assigned projects with strong judgment and decision-making.
Prepare and review construction documents, budgets, and schedules.
Lead and mentor designers and junior engineers, providing guidance, feedback, and quality assurance.
Collaborate with project teams and clients on scope, schedule, and deliverables.
Estimate discipline man-hours and design requirements.
Oversee multi-discipline coordination (MEP, Fire Protection, Structural) for project integration.
Conduct final QA/QC checks on engineering drawings.
Maintain and strengthen client relationships through presentations, technical guidance, and consistent communication.
Support projects across multiple sectors, including grocery, retail, industrial, multi-family, senior living, restaurants, and power centers.
Required Qualifications
Education: B.S. in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE).
Experience: Minimum 8 years of electrical engineering/design experience.
Proficiency in REVIT, AutoCAD, and electrical modeling software.
In-depth knowledge of electrical codes, systems, and design standards.
Strong communication, leadership, and client-facing skills.
Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead engineering teams.
Preferred Skills
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and organizational skills.
Expertise in equipment selection, technical documentation, and report preparation.
