Your Role as a Mechanical Engineer II

As a Mechanical Engineer II, you’ll apply your expertise in mechanical engineering design to deliver innovative and cost-effective HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for building projects. You’ll manage project deliverables, mentor junior engineers, and serve as a client-facing engineer, ensuring technical quality and successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design mechanical building systems including HVAC systems, plumbing design, and fire protection.

  • Perform load calculations, equipment selection, ductwork/piping layouts, and energy-efficient design solutions.

  • Develop construction drawings, specifications, and permitting documents using AutoCAD and Revit.

  • Conduct QA/QC reviews for compliance with building codes, ASHRAE, NFPA, and RTM standards.

  • Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers, and contractors.

  • Conduct site surveys, field inspections, punch lists, and construction administration services.

  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and client communication.

  • Mentor junior mechanical engineers and designers in HVAC and plumbing design software tools.

  • Support business development by contributing to proposals and client presentations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (required).

  • 3–5 years of mechanical engineering experience in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP.

  • Strong knowledge of building codes, ASHRAE standards, NFPA standards, and construction processes.

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.

  • EIT certification or PE license preferred.

Travel

  • Light travel (0–10%) for site surveys, client meetings, and construction support.
