Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical HVAC System Design Engineer to join their team in Maitland, Florida. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 5 years of experience in mechanical HVAC system design, with proficiency in utilizing Revit software. As a member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of HVAC systems for various commercial, institutional, and residential projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineering disciplines to develop comprehensive HVAC system designs that meet project requirements, codes, and standards.
- Perform load calculations, equipment selections, and ductwork design for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
- Utilize Revit software to create detailed 3D models, drawings, and construction documents for HVAC systems.
- Conduct site visits and assessments to gather data and ensure accurate design implementation.
- Assist in the preparation of technical specifications, reports, and design documentation.
- Coordinate with mechanical contractors and vendors to review shop drawings and resolve design issues during construction.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to HVAC system design and Revit software.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in mechanical HVAC system design, preferably in consulting engineering or construction industry.
- Proficiency in using Revit MEP software for HVAC system design and modeling.
- Strong understanding of HVAC design principles, codes, and standards (ASHRAE, IMC, IECC, etc.).
- Experience with energy modeling software (e.g., Trace 700, eQuest) is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is desirable but not required.
