Lead Licensed Architect – Residential Design (Senior Leadership Role)

About the Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Licensed Architect to join our Dallas office in a senior-level leadership role, depending on experience. This role involves both design and operational leadership, including managing projects, mentoring junior staff, and taking ownership of a profitable division.

While the focus is on residential design (single-family, townhomes, subdivisions, etc.), experience in shopping center or commercial design is a bonus. Multifamily experience is also valued.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead architectural design and project delivery from concept through construction

  • Oversee production of construction documents, code compliance, and technical detailing

  • Serve as the licensed professional responsible for stamping plans (Texas license required)

  • Mentor and manage junior staff and project teams

  • Collaborate with internal departments, clients, and consultants to ensure quality execution

  • Manage schedules, project budgets, and profitability

  • Support strategic growth within the residential division and assist with new project opportunities

  • Ensure design intent and technical standards are upheld throughout all phases of work

Qualifications

  • Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch)

  • Active Texas architectural license required (multi-state licensure is a plus)

  • 8–15+ years of experience in residential architecture; multifamily or commercial experience is a bonus

  • Prior leadership or management experience in an architectural firm

  • Deep knowledge of Texas building codes, permitting processes, and construction standards

  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite; SketchUp/Enscape a plus

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
