Cumberland RI – Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Meet with clients and attend appropriate marketing events
  • Performing site survey of existing system conditions.
  • Design of various mechanical system including air side and water side design, central plant, variable air volume and constant air volume systems, small and large HVAC systems, VRF systems, etc.
  • Construction assistance including shop drawing review, contractor relations, and site surveys
  • Lead and participate in meetings clients, state agencies, city agencies, utility service representatives and project teams.
  • Deliver projects on time and within client budgets
  • Deliver projects in compliance with client and company quality control procedures and engineering guidelines
  • Participate on project teams in an active production role
  • Preparation of project specifications
  • Review mechanical construction cost estimates
  • Daily interaction and collaboration on cross-functional teams across multiple disciplines
  • Coordination and verification of as-built drawings
  • Perform quality work that promotes client retention
  • Responsible for the development of reports and design documents, including HVAC floor plans, schematic diagrams, load calculations, Comcheck calculations, controls, details and specifications for the project.

Education | Experience:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Licensed Mechanical Professional Engineer preferred , multi- state licensure a plus
  • LEED Certification a plus
  • experience designing HVAC and Utility Systems for Pharmaceutical and Industrial Applications
  • 5+-years experience in mechanical engineering consulting including experience with clients and management.
  • A thorough understanding of mechanical building codes and construction standards.
  • Strong understanding of DDC controls and controls design and operation
  • Computer proficiency in applications within MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, BIM, and Energy Modeling
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills required.
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex problems and to collaborate with others to explore alternative solutions
