MES Business Analyst

This Senior IT/OT Application Expert role is key to maintain and continuously improve our Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) in Lonza’s Capsules Business. The job involves collaborating with Operations to gather business requirements, designing, configuring, testing, training of MES Software as well as coordinating customizations with the software vendor. System validation and 3rd level support activities are further tasks related to this position.
Key responsibilities:
• Oversee MES projects through all phases including concept, design, documentation, testing, deployment, and hyper care.
• Leads gathering of business requirements by being responsible for the collection, analysis, review, documentation, and communication of business needs and for ensuring proposed MES solutions meet business requirements.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications that guide the development and configuration of MES solutions.
• Work closely with the development team to ensure the effective implementation of MES projects, acting as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Organize and/or participate in system testing, author validation deliverables when needed, preform formal validation testing to ensure that the MES system meets functional and performance requirements.
• Creates guidance, documentations and manual operations procedures in both technical and user-friendly language as needed
• Provide training and support to end-users and clients to ensure successful adoption and utilization of the MES system.
• Provide 3rd level support, by performing root cause analysis for MES related issues, work with IT/OT and business partners to coordinate and resolve at root cause level
• Perform other duties as requested by management
Other Duties:
• Present project plans or results to higher levels of management in brief but effective and accurate language
• Provide supports to other OT applications in case of emergency
• Travel to other Lonza sites as needed (< 10%)
Key requirements:
• BS / BA in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related field
• Significant experience with professional IT application development, business systems analysis and support experience required
• Proven experience in manufacturing operation, analysis, implementation, change management, and lifecycle management of MES systems and/or shopfloor automation systems
Desired:
• ERP culture, mainly in material management, Production Planning, Logistics Execution and Sales & Distribution.
• Experience within a cGMP manufacturing facility
• Experience with Rockwell Pharmasuite MES system
• Experience with agile project execution
• Knowledge of BPMN, UML and/or other visual representation of processes and systems diagrams
