Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Next Gen GEO program in the Space Sensing PEO in managing the system engineering of a mission-unique payload, leveraging your space infrared sensor payload technical expertise.
• Assess payload developer progress. Provide technical review of payload development activities.
• Provide detailed reports of progress with technical evaluation of risk and impact. Identify and elevate technical and programmatic challenges.
• Identify technical discrepancies between payload hardware being utilized, installed, or built against requirements and program baselines.
• Collect data and provide comprehensive analysis on existing development programs within the Next Gen program.

Required Skills and Experience: 

• Technical Bachelor’s degree
• 15+ years directly applicable experience
• Experience with spacecraft payload IR sensor systems
• Experience working in or supporting space based sensor systems
• Experience with military Overhead Persistent Infrared Systems (OPIR) satellite production
• Able to design, analyze, and report out on spacecraft and payload IR sensor hardware to provide in-depth technical assessments and identify issues and risks.
• Excellent communication skills, customer relationship and technical skills.
• Experienced with leading spacecraft development activities.
• Ability to develop solutions for complex technical issues with limited supervision.
• US Citizenship and a TS/SCI Security Clearance are required for the position

Compensation: The salary for this position ranges from approximately $165,000 to $175,000 depending on relevant experience and qualifications.
