LinQuest is seeking a Software Engineer to work in a lab environment at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland to provide expertise in developing innovative prototypes that provide resilient SATCOM access to Army ground, missile, and aviation systems. The successful candidate will be part of a team providing integrated resilient SATCOM prototypes to the force which directly supports the Network CFT’s effort to modernize & harden the Army’s network against detection, intrusion, and compromise.  The successful candidate will work closely with Research and Development staff personnel and other federal contractors to update systems, address security breaches and help troubleshoot issues and restore computer systems to provide maximum functionality. Software Engineer with skills Software Engineer with skills in software development, test automation, and system automation to support Projected Anti-jam Tactical SATCOM (PATS) and/or WGS Certification engineering efforts.    

Responsibilities: 

Designs, modifies, develops, writes, and implements software programming applications. Supports and/or installs software applications/operating systems. Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software. 

Required Skills and Experience:

  • This role requires an active/current TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Math, Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
  • Recent (within past 2 years) relevant experience directly supporting the Protected Anti-Jam Tactical SATCOM (PATS) enterprise and/or Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) certification is highly desired; recent graduates with IT, Math, Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field degrees will be considered.
  • Software and script development and hardware and software integration
  • Participate in the planning and execution of test and evaluation activities
  • Decompose technical requirements and capabilities into executable scripts
  • Participate in system-level technical and operational testing
  • Creating and developing test scenarios
  • Expertise in the software/scripting development life cycle
  • Direct and recent experience dealing with testing methodologies and frameworks for Python and relevant APIs.
  • Knowledge of data structures, computer system architectures, software development methodologies
  • Experience within DoD satellite communications community
  • Experience with modem/waveform theory
  • CompTIA exam certifications such as Security+, Network+, or equivalent certifications
  • Works with the Information Assurance team as required under a DoD Authority to Operate (ATO) and other project certification objectives
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills; ability to analyze complex technical problems
  • Ability to multi-task, shift gears quickly, work independently and collaboratively, adapt easily to shifting priorities, process changes, and schedule changes
  • Excellent verbal and written communications; ability to explain issues clearly and concisely and establish effective working relationships in a distributed team

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with DoD Program Executive Office (PEO), Project Manager (O6 PM) or Product Manager (O5 PdM)
  • Ability to analyze issues and propose appropriate resolutions.
  • Knowledge of Army organization structure and Unit Task Organization concepts.
  • Ability to effectively communicate written and oral
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience supporting the PEO C3T, or Intelligence & Information Warfare Directorate (I2WD) program
  • Experience in engineering and/or acquisition of Intelligence Community (IC) and/or DOD spacecraft systems
  • Knowledge of IC and/or DOD acquisition roles, processes, and /or program management
  • Experience with Model Based System Engineering or Digital Engineering.
