Citizen Rail, a grill-centric restaurant and bar, is operated by Limelight Denver. Chef Christian Graves’ open kitchen and custom wood-fired grill are the center of the action at Citizen Rail, and guests in the dining room get a front-row seat to the show. Out on the heated patio there’s a lively scene all its own; cozy and sociable, it’s an ideal perch for a Union Station happy hour, dinner with friends or weekend brunch. 

Job Description

The Barback / Busser assists with keeping the bar stock, ensuring bar have clean glassware, replenishing garnishes, and helping maintaining the proper cleanliness and care of serving equipment, the bar areas, and liquor storage rooms. They also run and bus tables. They will also support In Room Dining by delivering orders and collecting payment from guests. Support amenity deliveries at the beginning of service.

Essential Job Functions  
•    Assist with getting bar ready and stock for service
•    Assist with putting orders away
•    Change kegs when empty
•    Serve water and food to guests
•    Expedite food and clear dishes 
•    Maintain positive communication with service and kitchen staff
•    Make manager aware of guest comments and complaints
•    Stock and restock service items including glassware, plates, and silverware 
•    Stock and restock beer, wine, and liquor 
•    Help with in room dining delivery and order taking when needed 
•    Take recycle bins and trash to loading dock
•    Sweep and mop floor at end of shift and clean floor mats
•    Maintain the proper cleanliness of table maintenance
•    Set up, maintain, and break down bar area and dining room
•    Assist bartender by preparing glasses and mixing drinks
•    Perform other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

•    Must be over 18 years of age 
•    High School Diploma or equivalent required 
•    Basic knowledge of wine, food, and cooking methods preferred
•    Six months to one year of related experience preferred

Additional Information

Supervision given and received
Given: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Received: Works under direct supervision of Restaurant Managers. Tasks are assigned according to specific procedures, and work is checked frequently. Instruction, advice and assistance are readily available.

Work Environment and physical demands 
Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, walk or be on your feet for extended periods of time. Regularly work in wet, hot and humid conditions for extended periods of time and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces. Must be able to constantly lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance
