Position Overview
 The Senior Electrical Engineer supports and manages various City owned electrical infrastructure projects. The Senior Electrical Engineer plays an integral role in the maintenance of the City’s electrical infrastructure. 
 
 The pay range for this position is $90,209 - $115,274 annually, with the starting salary depending on experience and qualifications. We are also offering a sign on bonus of $2,500 for this Senior Electrical Engineer opening.  Essential Functions
 The following duties are primarily performed and are essential for this position. Employees are expected to be able to perform each of these job duties satisfactorily and successfully to be qualified for the position. Other duties may be required and assigned.
 
 
 
 Support City’s Electrical and Facilities Maintenance teams by providing engineering and operational support as needed. 
 Manages the design of electrical scopes of work on capital improvement projects.
 Provides Engineering services related to City owned power distribution, lighting, emergency power, street lighting, fiber optic, and other City utility infrastructure. 
 Ensures electrical utility systems meet internal standards and external regulatory requirements.
 Validates, optimizes, and analyzes efficiency for cost savings and reduction of energy throughout City operations, coordinating with the City’s Electrical, Facilities, and Sustainability teams.
 Manages City’s solar arrays, ensures efficiency, run diagnostics and troubleshoots when appropriate.
 Identifies infrastructure improvements which drive operating costs down, and/or support more robust electrical integrity.
 Participates in the development of the City’s five-year Capital Improvement Program by analyzing electrical infrastructure needs, establishing priorities and recommending projects.
 Manage Electric Vehicle (EV) charging station initiatives to include development of EV charging strategic and renewable programs in coordination with the City’s Sustainability team.
 Support other engineering disciplines such as traffic engineering, as needed.
 Provide construction support on electrical infrastructure and maintenance projects.
 Minimum Requirements
 Education and/or Experience Requirements:
 
 Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program required.
 5+ years of related experience. 
 Experience in electrical design, with project management experience preferred.
 Licenses, Certifications, and Other Requirements:
 
 Professional Engineer license preferred. 
 A valid Wisconsin Driver’s License is required.
 Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Qualifications:

 Knowledge of the principles and practices of electrical systems, power distribution, and electrical infrastructure.
 Strong oral and written communication skills.
 Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; ability to learn other software.
 Ability to multi-task, prioritize a variety of projects, and function under deadlines.
 Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams on complex projects.
 Critical thinking ability and problem-solving skills.
 Strong organizational skills.

 Physical Requirements
 
 While performing the duties of this job, employee performs standard office activity requiring little physical effort; employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear, use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, ability to adjust focus including close, distance and peripheral vision; depth perception.


 Work Environment
 
 The noise level in the office work environment is low to moderate. Not normally exposed to disagreeable elements or beyond a limited degree of risk or discomfort. The employee is exposed to time pressures, frequent “rush” jobs, urgent deadlines, and multiple priorities. The work is prone to changes in priorities and changes in the level of urgency. The position can involve significant public contact which includes handling complaints and concerns of customers who may be upset.
 
 While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally outdoors and must be able to engage in continuous, active work under variable and sometimes adverse weather conditions
