Job Description

Elevate Your Career as a Maintenance Mechanic in the 
 City of Oshkosh’s Public Works Department!
 
 Pay Range: $29.11 – $33.27 per hour
 The City of Oshkosh is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join our Public Works Department. This position is a cornerstone in maintaining the operational integrity of our Wastewater Treatment Plant. We invite skilled mechanics who are poised to contribute significantly to our municipal infrastructure and advance within a forward-thinking community.
 What You'll Do:
 • Advanced Mechanical Repairs: Efficiently conduct repairs and perform routine maintenance on pumps and valves, adjust impeller clearances, and rebuild complex systems such as pumps, gear boxes, and motors. Execute precise adjustments to hydraulic systems ensuring optimal functionality.
 • Emergency Response Preparedness: Provide rapid response to emergency call-outs, maintaining continuous operation of plant facilities.
 • Technical Fabrication and Setup: Utilize gas and arc welding techniques for equipment repair and installation. Troubleshoot and integrate new technological systems within the plant.
 • Comprehensive Maintenance Duties: Plumbing, pipe fitting, and light carpentry as required. Operate machine tools for custom parts fabrication, maintain diligent computerized records, and manage procurement of required materials. Ensure compliance with rigorous safety regulations and mandatory training protocols.
 
 What We’re Looking For:
 • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
 • Experience: A minimum of 4 years in mechanical maintenance, particularly in rebuilding pumps, gear boxes, and related apparatus. Experience in the water or wastewater sector is a plus.
 • License: Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
