JOB DESCRIPTION

The Niños con Vida Childcare Supervisor has a passion for working with children as they learn about the Bible and growing a faith relationship. The Supervisor is responsible for managing all of the Niños con Vida part-time staff as they lead classroom activities during regular service times and during weekly events at the church.

This position reports to the Niños con Vida pastor/ Kidlife Spanish Director

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for the regular management of the Childcare-worker staff as they lead the classroom of the nursery, preschool, and elementary-aged children as they explore their Bible learning
  • Oversee training for Niños con Vida part-time staff to ensure effective ministry to children
  • Create and manage work schedules, inclusive of checking time clock submissions, and ensure proper coverages for all events
  • Inform staff of schedule changes, including additions to the team, services changes, and absences
  • Ensure effective and productive relationships between part-time staff and volunteer team members
  • Manage and monitor employee performance, attendance, and implement disciplinary actions as needed
  • Collaborate with other ministries to schedule, plan, and implement special events, childcare requests, within church guidelines
  • Understand and apply all Lakewood child safety policies and procedures
  • Assist in managing the team's compliance with Child Safety Training (CST)
  • Be available to work as scheduled - will include certain nights and weekends
  • Attend trainings as required
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Some college or college degree preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience is required
  • Previous experience working with children
  • Previous experience working in a children's ministry is preferred
