Research Assistant II Pathology

Greenfield Indiana

In this role, you will perform advanced necropsy or histology tasks on a variety of laboratory animals in compliance with the appropriate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs) and regulatory guidelines. You will also monitor animal health and welfare in compliance with the Animal Health and Welfare Act and help maintain facilities for Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC) compliance. Common duties include but are not limited to.

Performs advanced duties of necropsy and/ or advanced duties of histology.

Trim wet tissues

Embed tissues into paraffin.

Tissue staining techniques.

Microtomy

As a subject matter expert for others on the team

Skills/Experience/Education

Bachelor’s Degree or Associate Degree in Animal Science, Biology, Wildlife Studies, Histology Veterinary Technology is preferred, however, experience may substitute for education.

3+ years of experience as a Study Tech Pathology within a contract research organization

Expert skills in dissection, necropsy, histology, and taxidermy,

Demonstrates teamwork and leadership skills.

Strong GLP study knowledge
