Job Summary:
As the company’s Senior Active Directory Administrator/Cloud Architect, your duties will consist of designing solutions for both cloud and on-premises systems; providing technical direction and support to internal team members; providing input to strategic planning, governance, and recommendations for the operation, maintenance, and future development of internal Active Directory, DNS, and KPI infrastructure and M365 and Azure cloud computing infrastructure.
The Senior Active Directory Administrator/Cloud Architect works with internal partners to support and maintain existing infrastructure and applications; troubleshoot problems involving active directory and dependent applications; and evaluate and design solutions for business and customer requirements which will integrate with and enhance the network. The Senior Active Directory Administrator/Cloud Architect is fluent in the latest IT security trends and best practices, and ensures that all systems within scope of ownership are continually evaluated and operated securely. The Senior Active Directory Administrator/Cloud Architect applies complex design principles and methodology to ensure cost-effective and optimal use of resources and technology without jeopardizing integrity.
Essential Duties, Skills and Responsibilities
- Act as the internal focal point for M365/Azure technologies, working with internal resources to facilitate cloud adoption
- Design and manage all aspects of on-premises AD and Azure cloud environment including groups, policies, OU structure, etc.
- Monitor and configure AD for optimum availability, performance and security
- Work with system owners to integrate new applications into the environment while maintaining security of networks, systems, and data
- Develop, maintain, and approve documentation of the Labcorp environment architecture, as well as procedures and processes required for lifecycle maintenance
- Use Powershell for development of complex scripts and programs to support and automate administration and maintenance activities across all environments
- Conduct analysis to identify waste and duplication of effort, and improve efficiency of operations
- Provide support and guidance to other internal teams and team members based on best practices
- Possess a thorough understanding of enterprise networks, LAN & WAN technologies, and virtualization
- Evaluate alternative technologies and architectures in relation to Labcorps infrastructure needs.
- Interface with management and vendors to develop and implement new solutions to meet business requirements.
- Design and manage the rollout of applications and cloud-based solutions to support Labcorp products and services, on both a strategic (long term) and tactical (immediate term) level.
- Perform analytical, technical, cost analysis and development work in the planning, design, installation and on-going administration and management of Labcorp AD and cloud infrastructures
- Ensure that core services infrastructure is fully documented and performing as required for internal and customer SLA guarantees and expectations by means of specific metrics and measurements.
Education/Experience: Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related discipline with five or more years directly related experience in a senior network engineer or higher capacity.
