Job Summary:
As the Associate Director of Medical Operations (ADMO), you will work in collaboration with and under the guidance of the Director of Medical Operations (DMO) and the Chief Medical Officer (CMO). Primary responsibilities include workflow development, support, project management, quality improvement oversight and management, medical risk management, and supervision of agencywide Clinical Health Education manager and Area Managers.
Major Areas of Responsibility, include but are not limited to:
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Under the direction of the Director of Medical Operations, provides direct supervision and operational support for Clinical Health Education manager and Area Managers.
- Providers additional operational support to the medical department clinic managers.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Serves as a support and an interface with key support departments and other internal stakeholders/service lines.
- Supports medical departmental goals of workforce development, patient access, quality, and wellness.
- Oversees and manages key medical operation projects in alignment with agency strategic goals.
- Serves as liaison with peer organizations and external partners.
- Provides leadership coaching and support for clinic management staff.
- Responsible for providing oversight and direction for the Clinical Health Education Manager and Area Managers.
- Participates in fiscal oversight of medical operations including budgeting, variance reporting and productivity.
- Directs clinical and operational end-user interaction with clinical information systems, including but not limited to EHR, Adaptive, and Tableau workflows and integration of information from population health analytics platforms.
- In collaboration with the DMO and CMO, identifies and prioritizes clinical measures of focus for organization.
- Serves as liaison with external stake holders including payors, managed services organizations, vendors.
- Staffs the board Quality Assurance committee and CQI meeting and maintains oversight of activities under its purview, including research conducted at La Clínica.
- Serve as back up for CMO/DMO for crisis/emergency response and meetings with agency department leadership and external partners.
- Other duties and responsibilities assigned by DMO and/or CMO.

- Ability to lead change in evolving environments and work at a highly functional level under pressure.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Excellent skills in complex problem solving, planning, analysis, and project management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to facilitate meetings and processes to ensure maximum buy-in while leading projects to completion.
Flexibility to be available during evenings, weekends, and off hours as needed or assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in Public Health or related field.
- A minimum of three years working in a healthcare setting.
- A minimum of two years of supervisory/management experience.
- Experience in public health, community clinics, or other safety net setting highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Physical Requirements:
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods
- Bending/lifting, pushing/pulling, adjusting, or moving objects weighing up to 15 pounds in all directions and occasionally more.
- Repeating motions that may include the neck, wrists, hands and/or fingers.
- Upper extremity demands: Reaching above shoulder and/or below waist.
- Able to travel between Alameda, Contra Costa, and Solano Counties on a regular basis.
