Job Description

Position Overview:

Reporting directly to the CFO, the Senior Director of FP&A is a strategic finance leadership role responsible for overseeing and directing all aspects of the financial planning and analysis function within the organization. This position plays a critical role in shaping the Region’s financial strategy, providing insights to senior leadership team, and ensuring effective financial management and decision-making. Key responsibilities: support the Region’s strategy choices, own the short-term and long-term financial models, monthly business reporting, lead the Board of Directors deck, the quarterly forecast and annual budget process. The Senior Director of FP&A will have strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. In addition, they will possess a broad knowledge of all accounting, financial, and business principles. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on contributor, leader, and partner to the senior leadership team. We are looking for someone who possesses a spirit of curiosity and dynamism to help create financial models that allow for efficiency and longevity across our teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Financial Planning: Collaborate with senior leadership team to develop and execute the Region’s financial strategy. Own the Region’s short-term and long-term financial models.
  • Quarterly Forecast and Annual Budget: Lead the quarterly financial forecast and annual budget process. Partner with the school leaders and Regional Office managers to deliver the financial forecast including key risks and opportunities.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis on key performance evaluations. Assess sustainability, and identify trends, opportunities, and risks to support informed decision-making.
  • Business Reporting: Responsible for monthly financial reporting, quarterly board of directors decks, and ad hoc reporting to other stakeholders. Includes in-depth analysis and management notes in addition to financial statements.
  • Manage cash and liquidity forecasting: improve the forecasting process, accuracy, and reporting.
  • Work alongside the Controller on financial statement close, audit, compliance, and internal controls.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business-related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in the finance function, with experience in education or non-profit environment a plus.
  • Prior experience managing FP&A processes in a cross-functional / multi-entity environment.
  • Experience in financial planning software implementation a plus.
  • Possess strong potential in analytical skills, critical thinking, creative problem-solving, sound judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrate and maintain a professional, service-oriented attitude; good communication skills; and the ability to work with various constituencies.
  • Demonstrate and maintain strong computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and finance software programs. Experience with Sage Intacct and ADP is a plus.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to meet deadlines, independently and in a team environment.
  • Complete all required criminal and child abuse background checks:
    • PA State Police Clearance
    • PA Child Abuse Clearance
    • Cogent Federal Fingerprinting

Compensation

  • The salary for this position is up to $140,000 commensurate with expereince.
