In the current school year, the KIPP Jacksonville region is comprised of four schools educating more than 2,700 students, kindergarten through eleventh grade in the North and West sides of Jacksonville, Florida.

  • KIPP Impact Academy: Kindergarten - 3rd grade, 6th - 8th grade 

  • KIPP VOICE Academy: Kindergarten - 8th grade 

  • KIPP Bessie Coleman Academy: Kindergarten - 8th grade 

  • KIPP Bold City High School: 9th - 11th grade

For the current school year, teachers at KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools work the following hours Monday through Friday and may have occasional meetings or special school events outside of these hours. Hours for teachers and students may vary slightly by school.

  • K-8 Staff: 7:30am - 4:30pm K-8 Students: 8:00am - 3:30pm, Wednesday K-8 dismissal is at 1:30pm 

  • High School Staff: 6:45am - 3:45pm, High School Students: 7:15am - 2:30pm, Wednesday High School dismissal is at 12:30pm. 

Every Wednesday is a student early release day, which allows teachers to participate in weekly professional development and content team meetings. *This doesn’t include Wellness Wednesdays when all staff leave at student dismissal.

Job Description

Title: Part-Time Guest Educator

Hourly Rate: $18.50 per hour

Schedule: up to 25 hours a week M- F

POSITION OVERVIEW 

KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks part-time Guest Educators to work in our schools. These Guest Educators might provide coverage in several ways. One way might be to work in one position for a whole school day, for example, providing coverage while a teacher is out.  Another way would be providing rotating coverage or "floating" when teachers at one of our schools are out, in a meeting, or are reporting elsewhere. Guest Educators might also work half-days.

This position would start as soon as possible and run through the whole 2023-24 school year. Guest Educators should be flexible to work at any of our campuses. Part-time Guest Educators would be scheduled on an as-needed basis and would be called in advance to confirm their assignment for the day and their daily schedules.

Guest Educators are expected to maintain high expectations for both behavior and academics in the classroom, and communicate with the team to ensure a smooth transition in classrooms. 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • This position offers no fringe benefits

  • Pay rate for this position is $18.50 per hour with a maximum of 25 hours per week

  • This position would not conflict for those who have retired through FRS

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate's Degree (or 60 completed college credits)
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a team of teachers

HIGHLY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Clear path to obtaining a Florida Teaching Certification 
  • Experience working in an urban public school or charter school setting
