KIPP Metro Atlanta is part of the nationwide KIPP non-profit network of 255 college-preparatory, public charter schools educating more than 100,000 early childhood, elementary, middle, and high school students. KIPP Metro Atlanta currently operates eleven KIPP schools including four primary schools, five middle schools, one K-7 school, and one high school, as well as the KIPP Forward program which supports students on their journey “to and through” college.  

The regional support team provides financial and operational support and oversight to KIPP Metro Atlanta schools, develops instructional initiatives designed to strengthen the schools’ academic programs, and implements each school’s high school placement and alumni services through the KIPP Forward program.

Job Description

KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools seeks an experienced Facilities Support Coordinator who will be responsible for providing direct support to the operations and facility management teams to complete day-to-day work, ensuring a well-maintained site with an emphasis on a positive response to the needs of the school.

 As a KIPP Metro Atlanta Facilities Support Cooridnator, your core responsibilities include:

School Facility Support

  • Respond to work requests quickly and efficiently as they are assigned by the Director of Operations or Building Engineer
  • Assist with physical movement of furniture, equipment, boxes, and materials as needed for meeting and conference room set-ups, school events, shipping and delivery, supplies, stocking, etc.
  • Maintain excellent communication with the operations team and building engineer regarding the status of work requests
  • Ensure grounds maintenance
  • Notify Building Engineer of needed facility repairs
  • Assist Building Engineer with facility repairs
  • Support all school safety drills
  • Diligently support and maintain a professional working relationship with administrators, teachers, students, and parents
  • Follow through on all other duties as assigned by Director of Operations and/or Building Engineer

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in a facility maintenance environment
  • Experience with developing and maintaining productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Able to develop, maintain and adhere to action items, responsibilities, goals, and initiatives; self-imposed or assigned
  • Self-motivated, energetic, with inherit ability to learn, and improve efficiencies through collaboration
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Committed to the mission of preparing educationally underserved children for excellent high schools and colleges
