JMT is seeking a Project Manager in the Hunt Valley, MD area for an exciting opportunity to work in support of federal contract and federal construction projects. The Project Manager will provide contract and construction project oversite using knowledge of general engineering and construction principles and practices to interpret, organize, coordinate, communicate and execute assignments. Essential skills and responsibilities

  • Support federal contracts and their growth at a national level.
  • Build project teams
  • Develop Project Management Plans (PMP) for assigned projects
  • Provide construction management oversight during all phases of the project
  • Create and maintain project schedules (Basic)
  • Prepare and maintain project budgets
  • Manage other team members and in-house project support staff
  • Prepare reports and logs such as inspector daily reports, cost to date, estimated cost to complete, submittals, RFI’s, etc.
  • Manage project sub-consultants and in-house support disciplines
  • Coordinate with client executive leadership

Required Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong work ethic. Willing to do what it takes to get the job done
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, architectural or a related field from an accredited engineering, construction management or architectural program
  • 10+ total years’ experience of construction management of buildings and facilities with a minimum of one project valued at over $10M
  • Previous federal construction experience
  • Federal contract management

Preferred Experience

  • Knowledgeable with CPM scheduling. Experienced with Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project
  • OSHA Certified
  • Professional Engineer (PE), Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
  • Experience working with federal, state, and local governmental agencies
  • Experience with federal, state, and local codes and standards.
  • Knowledgeable in construction testing, inspection and commissioning requirements
  • Experience working with Department of Defense and federal civilian agencies
  • Experience with International Building Code, Unified Facilities Criteria, and Public Building Service PBS 100 Facilities Standards.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in both an office and field (construction) environment.  Office to field time is approximately 20% to 80% respectively. Field work requires climbing, walking and standing at a construction site and may be outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 50 lbs.) may be required.
