Position summary: JMT’s Southeastern PA Highway Team is in need of a strong, career-minded, leader to help deliver our strong portfolio of exciting and impactful highway infrastructure and complete streets projects.  The selected candidate will be embedded in a team of experienced project managers and professional engineers, helping to lead technical designs, coordinate with multiple discipline leads,  and serve as client-forward contacts. The successful candidate will also act as a technical advisor to less experienced engineers and will help grow the team and win work.

Essential functions and responsibilities:

·        Technical understanding of civil/roadway design ranging from complete streets to interstate reconstruction

·        Manage all technical resources and multiple disciplines on the project team

·        1-on-1 Client Interaction and participation in client presentations

·        Manage and coordinate with subconsultants

·        Develop and monitors schedules, budgets, and scope and prepares invoices.

·        Prepare project status report and invoices

·        Develop and maintain project specific quality plans

·        Development of extra work order requests and open-end contract task proposals

·        Coordinate and assist Section Heads, Office Managers, and Practice Leaders with marketing proposals

 Nonessential functions and responsibilities:

·        Perform other related duties as assigned

 

Required Experience

·Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited engineering program

·Professional Engineer License

·8+ years’ experience in specialized discipline

·Proficient in Microsoft Office

Qualifications preferred:

·Experience working with the City of Philadelphia and/or PennDOT

·Project management and business development experience

·Experience with multiple project delivery methods i.e. Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, P3

·Experience managing multidiscipline project teams

Working Conditions:

At JMT we value a healthy work/life balance and offer a flexible hybrid working schedule.

Work is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.

Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.
