General Summary
We are seeking a Payroll Administrator who will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the payroll function and ensuring timely and accurate generation for the company’s weekly and semi-monthly payrolls. This position is fully remote.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for accurate and timely payroll processing for multiple pay groups to include payroll reconciliation and off cycle payroll processing
- Researches and corrects issues found during processing
- Process garnishment requests
- Provides information and answers employee questions about payroll related matters
- Prepares and reconciles all payments to third party vendors as needed
- Maintain, input, and create health & welfare, pension and insurance vouchers for agency payments
- Prepare month-end reports for Accounting Department
- Responds to payroll related questions from employees and management in a timely manner
- Contributes to maintenance of payroll procedure manual
- Makes recommendations for system and/or process changes as applicable
- Maintains relationships with outside vendors to keep abreast of changes that may affect business
- Liaises with the HR and Accounting departments
- Utilizes UKG for data entry and accounts management
- Runs relevant reports and documents as needed
- Verifies employee records and consults departments in the event of a discrepancy
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements
- Must have five (5) years experience using UKG. Strong preference of experience using UKG Dimensions.
- Minimum High school diploma/GED required
- Degree in business administration, finance, or accounting preferred
- Experience with high volume payroll
- Experience working in a critical deadlines environment
- Ex-patriate and union experience preferred
- Certification issued by the American Payroll Association (FCP, CPP) preferred
- Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Working knowledge of relevant legal regulations
- Ability to work independently and to contribute to a team
- Able to prioritize to meet payroll deadlines
- Intermediate in all Microsoft Office applications
Physical, Environmental and Sensory Requirements
- Work environment is a typical office setting.
- Physical demands include intermittent sitting, standing, and walking, and occasional bending reaching and lifting.
