Job Title: System Administrator

Location(s): Annapolis Junction, Maryland Hours: Regular Full-Time/ First Shift

Clearance Requirements:

This position requires a current and active TS/SCI with FS poly at the time of application.

What you will be doing:

The Systems Administrator provides support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems; manages IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems; provides support to IT systems including: day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client problems; provides second level problem identification, diagnosis and resolutions of problems; provides support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remain involved in the resolution process; provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers; and possesses experience in one or more systems and architectures and associated hardware: mainframe, mini, or client/server based

  • Provide assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems
  • Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems
  • Manage daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems
  • Ensures that the appropriate operational security posture is maintained for an Information System (IS)
  • Serves as a principal advisor on all matters technical and otherwise involving the security of an IS
  • Responsible for the day-to day security operations of the system; including but not limited to Security Control Validation Visits, Secure Configuration, and Change Management, Event Management, Account Management, Vulnerability Management, Security Incident Management, POA&M Management, Reauthorization, and Decommissioning
  • Plays a critical role in the monitoring of a system and its environment of operation to include developing and updating the System Security Plan (SSP).
  • Manage and control changes to the system and assess the security impact of those changes
  • Ensure that self testing is completed, initially in Step 3: IMPLEMENT; but also throughout the remaining steps in the RMF process

Position Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

Experience/Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university is required.

- Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree

Knowledge/Skills:

**Must be IAT Level 1, 2, or 3 certified**

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ideal candidate will have several years of LINUX experience/Linux Server Certifications
  • Experience with Nifi and Red Hat Linux (Cent OS) would be ideal.

Physical Demands:

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to move files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
