POSITION SUMMARY:

Under limited supervision, Senior Project Engineer responsibilities include technical support, coordination of materials and resources required for the engineering work, ensuring engineering activities are compliant with applicable regulations, industry standards, and Company policies.  Other duties include implementing engineering procedures that align with the project requirements and the safe, practical application of engineering related concepts and theories.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:  may include any or all of the following.  

  • Responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating the technical and engineering aspects of assigned projects including identifying/securing the resources and materials required for the engineering work.
  • Review project plans, drawings, and engineering specifications as well as other technical documents and provide guidance on the scope, feasibility, associated costs, timeline, milestones, etc.
  • Coordinate and assist with QA/QC inspections, product deliveries, packaging and storage of finished products.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot equipment, programming, and design failures to determine the necessary corrective action; notify management of any unusual design or application conditions and production or service issues.
  • Monitor project budget; track/report hours and perform an expense analysis as required.
  • Serve as the liaison with engineering and multiple internal departments as well as external customers to ensure the correct interpretation of the projects requirements, design and application.
  • Ensure engineering activities are compliant with all applicable regulations, standards, and Company policies.
  • Implement engineering procedures that align with the project requirements and ensure the safe, practical application of learned theory in design interpretation and engineering concepts.
  • Responsible for the prompt, accurate submittal of all required reports and data.
  • Maintain all assigned equipment and facilities in a safe, neat, workable condition.
  • Perform all duties in a safe, professional manner at all times.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (COMPETENCY STATEMENTS):

  • Demonstrated skill at reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Proven ability to write clearly and informatively; edit work for spelling and grammar; able to read and interpret written information and use clear fluent verbal and written language to convey information and ideas so others will understand.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate others to work together in the most efficient manner while ensuring that each team member is utilized to their full potential.
  • Proven working knowledge of various project management methodologies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
  • Proven working knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering related discipline and 8+ years of project engineering related experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience are required. Oil and gas industry/product manufacturing and services experience is preferred.
  • Experience in mechanical/chemical engineering with proven Promax/Hysis simulation and fabrication helpful.

Computer skills:

  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Applications.

 Certifications & Licenses:

  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Project Engineering Professional (PEP) certification, preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE), preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This position will be responsible for assigning work, assisting with projects, training and overseeing the performance of assigned project personnel. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
