Job Description
The Department of Defense (DOD), Office of Inspector General (OIG), established in 1982 by the Inspector General Act of 1978, as amended, DOD OIG is an independent, agency that conducts oversight and identifies, deters, and detects fraud, waste, and abuse in DOD operations and programs. The investigative arm of the DOD OIG is the Defense Criminal Investigative Service (DCIS) that works closely with law enforcement agencies to conduct criminal investigations of matters critical to DOD property, programs, and operations with an emphasis on life, safety, and readiness. The importance of the DOD OIG oversight work is signified by the enormity of the Department’s mission, the numerous assets that DOD utilizes to accomplish its mission, the magnitude of the $600 billion budget, and the over 3 million personnel who are part of the DOD family. The DOD OIG’s oversight work balances the needs and requests of both the DOD and Congress. The purpose of this contract effort is intended to acquire various levels of support to assist each of the components accomplish prospective activities. The ISN DoD OIG IT Contract Support Services Visual Communications Manager, will oversee professional photography and graphics design support, plan, analyze, and create visual solutions that meet internal and external communications and outreach requirements using a variety of methods such as color, type, illustration, photography, video, animation, and various print and layout techniques to produce promotional displays, communication materials to include, but not limited to brochures, posters, and fact sheets and signage systems for both print and electronic mediums. Provide services using industry-standard programs including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Access), Microsoft Publisher, Microsoft Project, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Premier, After Effects, Bridge) and Adobe Digital Publishing Suite. The following tasks are not all inclusivebut will be part of the total solution for meeting the needs of the objective: Task 1: Produce graphics such as illustrations, art renderings, cartooning, and logo design for print and electronic publication. Task 2: Provide and create original art, design, development, and associated graphics support for a variety of products to include but not limited to, posters, charts, graphs, diagrams, maps, brochures, newsletters, badges, certificates, labels, name plates, tent cards, placards, and signage. Task 3: Oversee and support the design and development of complex graphics and illustrations for use in technical materials, reports, manuals, and publications. Artwork may include, but not limited to, tables, logos, charts, Power Point presentations, flowcharts, brochures, forms, illustrations, photographs, promotional materials, posters, and postcards. Task 4: Develop optimized graphics and interactive media for web pages and social media platforms. Task 5: Provide digital photography support to include editing and technical correction for official personnel photos and documentation of OIG activities and events. Photographic material may be presented in magazines, books, newspapers, a computer monitor, a touch screen tablet, Web site, CD-ROM, or other visual media platforms. Qualifications
+7 years of experience relevant oversight in a majority of the detailed task areas
Must pass and maintain Active DoD Secret clearance throughout the life of the contract.
Bachelors degree. Master's preferred.
