The Abramson Family Cancer Research Institute at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of mouse modeling of pre-leukemia, molecular biology, CRISPR/CAS9 gene editing, hematopoietic assays. Applicants must have an Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree.
Responsibilities may include generating and characterizing a mouse model of familial platelet disorder with predisposition for myeloid malignancy.
The successful applicant will have an opportunity to further develop critical skills including mouse modeling of disease, presentation of data, manuscript preparation, present research findings in national and international meetings, mentor junior scientists, and participate in career trainings offered by the University.
Candidate should have a minimum of 3-5 years postdoctoral experience in hematology field.
