The Division of Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Full Professor positions in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of medical care for a diverse patient population with a broad range of advanced pulmonary diseases in outpatient clinics and on inpatient consultation services, as well as the medical intensive care unit. Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree. Candidates should be board certified in Internal Medicine as well as Pulmonary Medicine.
Teaching responsibilities may include teaching medical students, medical residents, fellows, and advanced practitioners within the Health System and the VA Medical Center. Selected candidates will be expected to participate as an active member of the Penn Graduate Programs based on their research role.
Clinical responsibilities may include proficiency in treating critically ill patients in the ICU unit, rounding on inpatient services for advanced lung disease, and participating in a busy outpatient clinical practice at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania as well as Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and the VA Medical Center.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include developing a clinical and/or translational research program. The succsessful candidate will have evidence of previous scholarly productivity.
Preferred candidates will have an interest and experience in education and systems improvement initiatives with an ability to provide management and/or leadership.
