The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area LGBTQ+ Health. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. The candidate should be board-certified in Family Medicine; fellowship training or CAQ is optional, based on the individual candidate.

The Department provides comprehensive primary care for the largest number of LGBTQ+ patients at Penn Medicine, including management of PrEP and gender-affirming hormones. We seek a candidate who can help continue to grow the specialized care provided within DFMCH for the LGBTQ+ community.

Teaching responsibilities may include participation in the education of Family Medicine residents, medical students, and interdisciplinary learner teams.

Clinical responsibilities may include outpatient care in a busy academic practice, caring for a racially and gender diverse patient population. Based on the individual candidate, optional roles may include rounding on the adult medicine inpatient service, engaging in community clinics and outreach events, and LGBTQ-focused primary care.

Candidates are not required to participate in research or scholarship; however, they are welcome to collaborate with faculty within the university.

Candidates should have a passion for teaching Family Medicine residents and students and have a strong demonstrated commitment to addressing health disparities in marginalized communities. We recognize the impact of structural oppression on the demographics of the physician workforce, and we strive to reverse the under-representation of minority groups in medicine by cultivating an inclusive and equitable work environment.
