Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure Academic Clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of Cardiac Critical Care Medicine with a focus on Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Medicine. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. ABP certification or board eligibility, and Pennsylvania licensure are required.

Teaching responsibilities may include teaching in our formal didactic lecture program as well as the informal teaching of medical students, residents, fellows, and other health care professionals working in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. Attendance and participation in lectures, presentations, and conferences within the division as well as multidisciplinary conferences is expected.

Clinical responsibilities may include direct patient care and medical direction in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.  Primary practice is located at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

The major emphasis of the Academic Clinician track is teaching and clinical excellence in pediatric cardiac critical care medicine, and a sustained record of professionalism. The expectation is that there will be a chosen area of concentration that include, but are not limited to, education, clinical operations, community service, quality and safety, health equity, diversity and inclusion, health policy, and global health.
