Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Emergency Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of Pediatrics with a focus on Emergency Medicine. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree.

Teaching responsibilities may include participating in the clinical education of medical students, residents and fellows as a member of the Division of Emergency Medicine.

Clinical responsibilities may include providing direct patient care in an Emergency Department that has an annual volume of 100,000 visits. Clinical employment opportunities in Pediatric Emergency Medicine are also being offered at both our clinical affiliate institutions, Virtua Voorhees, in Southern New Jersey and our new King of Prussia Center in King of Prussia, PA which opened in early 2022. Positions at Virtua Voorhees and King of Prussia will include an academic appointment, as well as clinical shifts in the CHOP Emergency Department. The distribution of clinical activity at CHOP and the designated clinical affiliate is negotiable, and can be tailored to the interests of the applicant but significant time away from CHOP Main should be expected. Candidates are expected to be knowledgeable of current ED studies and participate in patient enrollment, as needed.

We seek candidates who embrace and reflect diversity in the broadest sense. The University of Pennsylvania and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia are EOEs. Minorities/women/individuals with disabilities/protected veterans are encouraged to apply.
