Overnight shift: M-F 9:00pm -5:30am

Pay: Up to $30/hr based on experience

Willing to train candidates that are mechanically inclined. Must have basic understanding.
Maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.

  • Operates in a safe and proficient manner a variety of tools and instrumentation, including but not limited to hand tools, power tools, voltage tester, ammeter, personal computer, etc. used in the performance of the job.
  • Examines equipment and machinery to troubleshoot for defects, determines course of action for repairs, and interacts with DC team members to assure repairs are complete and satisfactory.
  • Makes all necessary repairs, installs and/or rebuilds equipment and machinery.
  • Responsible for preventive maintenance and planning repairs when needed to assure DC priorities are met.
  • Pro-active in safety as well as assuring all machinery and equipment is in safe operating condition.
  • Follow company safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain daily work order system and assist in planning the activities for the maintenance team.
  • Learn the DC processes and hazards associated with the maintenance dept.
  • Assist the team members, when necessary, on breakdowns and when servicing equipment.
  • Drive forklift/cherry picker.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Education 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic computer skills – requiring able to use a log in and password and follow simple instructions.

 Experience 

  • Previous experience helpful, one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 Language Skills 

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

 Mathematical Skills 

  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. 
  • The employee is exposed to hot/cold weather/air depending upon the season. Employee is occasionally exposed to fumes. As the doors to the docks are opened and closed. 
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
