The goal for the Sales Supervisor is to be responsible for supervising the servicing of a group of stores for a major supermarket chain, maintaining the highest standards of service by utilizing a predetermined number of service people. The individual in this position will be responsible for assisting in the recruitment and training of Sales Service Reps (SSR’s), conduct store service audits on a regular basis and to maintain established store service level standards. The individual will also be responsible for merchandising tasks such as category resets and new store/remodel conversions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform store inspections to ensure adherence to Imperial’s Service Excellence standards.
- Conduct Store Quality Audits.
- Assist in the evaluation and selection of qualified candidates; Execute and monitor training plan; Evaluate trainees; Conduct meetings with salespeople on a regular basis.
- Maintain service levels to acceptable standards; Ensure store service schedules are adhered to; Assist with store service as needed.
- Full responsibility of all merchandising tasks associated with remodels and new store set-ups in assigned area.
- Full responsibility of all merchandising tasks associated with annual category reviews in assigned area.
- Ability to read and implement planograms.
- Control expenses within budget guidelines; Monitor and approve mileage and expense reports; Ensure timely completion of all related paperwork; Review weekly service reports from SSR’s.
- Build relationships with store managers and grocery managers and other staff to maximize sales opportunities; Assure customer satisfaction with Imperial.
- Build year over year sales.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred. (3+yrs related experience may be substituted for formal degree).
- Minimum 2yrs of Supervisory or Team Leader experience preferred.
- Related Retail/Supermarket service experience or related store/route sales experience a plus.
- Knowledge of GM/HBC product categories preferred.
- Intermediate/Advanced Computer skills and Electronic ordering device experience a plus.
- Energetic, Creative, Self-Motivated-Innovative Thinker.
- Ability to Travel (Valid Driver’s License/Reliable Transportation required).
- Pre-Employment Criminal Background Clearance and Drug Screening.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to pick up and move objects.
- Physical ability to safely perform job functions with or without aid of mechanical devises.
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, stop, reach.
- Requires manual dexterity and visual acuity sufficient to typing, filing and perform other administrative job functions (type, email, etc.).
- Ability to visit and walk stores 60-70% of time.
