SUMMARY

The Associate Account Manager is an entry level account management role.  The Account Manager will develop and mentor the Associate Account Manager to ensure that he/she execute these duties regularly and with high proficiency:

  • Build key relationships with our customers
  • Meet and exceed Imperial’s and our customer’s financial goals
  • Lead projects and develop customer business plans that tie to Imperial and account sales strategies
  • Determine In store execution priorities that support Imperial and customer business plans

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage flow of goods for replenishment and seasonal programs.
  • Work with Imperial procurement and customer service to insure flawless flow of goods management for new item launches, reserved goods, seasonal items, category resets, new store openings, and disposition plans for delisted SKUs. 
  • Plan and communicate sales forecasts to Imperial’s procurement team for all items in Imperial’s and customer’s product portfolio.
  • Support the Account Manager in developing sales and merchandising plans, category management, and sales forecasts for Imperial businesses.
  • Support the Account Manager in Operations ensuring in-store execution of the service program.
  • Support the development of promotional plans and unique programs to deliver sales growth.
  • Support the development of marketing and advertising programs to increase sales in our client’s supermarket stores.
  • Analyze customer specific sales data to develop category recommendations and in-store execution opportunities.
  • Participate and assist in the development of sales budgets, customer P&L management, address questions or concerns when applicable.
  • Assist with the preparation of customer business reviews.
  • Other duties as requested.

Education:

  • Four year degree required (work related experience will be considered in place of formal degree)

Experience

  • 2-5 years sales and merchandising experience with GM (general merchandise) and HBC (Health and Beauty Care) product categories
  • 2-5 years of Account Management, Retail Sales Management, Category or Sales Analyst or Operations Management in experience in a retail environment
  • Supermarket industry experience / experience a plus, but not required.
  • Requires a hybrid work schedule – 3 days in Retailer or Imperial office.
  • Travel 20% of time
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Office and Power Point. Ability to adapt to internal and external programs such as AS400, customer portals and more.
  • Customer centric, highly motivated, and analytical thinker
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Clearance of Pre-employment Criminal Background Check and Drug Screen

Physical  Requirements:

  • Ability to exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to pick up and move objects.
  • Physical ability to safely perform job functions with or without aid of mechanical devices.
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, stop, reach.
  • Requires manual dexterity and visual acuity sufficient to typing, filing and perform other administrative job functions (type, email, etc.).

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and write short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
