So it is our pleasure to announce that we are currently seeking a part-time candidate for the role of Custodian-Mover to join our team!

By ICL definition, a Custodian-Mover is someone who is responsible for the cleaning of all areas of an assigned facility whilst attending to minor building maintenance and repairs. This individual will also be responsible for transporting office equipment and/or residential household items for relocation services, in addition to, some grounds maintenance work: keeping lawns or sidewalks clean, mowing grass, tending to ornamental gardens, raking leaves or shoveling snow. – activities, tasks, and equipment/vehicle usage vary according to the season and individual needs of the program.

To be considered for this role, you MUST first adhere to and understand the requirements and tasks listed below…

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Available Monday to Friday – (Hours & Shift: to be determined...)
• Location: to be determined...
• No Degree Required – company assessment test provided, if necessary
• 1-2 years of custodial and moving experience – knowledge of efficient cleaning and maintenance preferred
• VALID Driver’s License Photo ID – NYS preferred
• OSHA 30 Certified – a plus but not mandatory
• Knowledge of responsible and safe cleaning product usage – ie: clorox, ammonia, isopropyl alcohol, and more…
• Heavy Lifting, Pushing & Pulling of up to 50+ lbs – the ability to bend, kneel, squat, and stand for long periods is a MUST
• Following all safety guidelines in accordance with the performance of tasks mentioned
• Strong communication, writing, and conveying skills – bi-lingual is a plus but not mandatory
• Proper attire at all times – this includes work pants, boots, and outer/inner-wear with the ICL company logo (provided after training)

 CUSTODIAN / MOVER TASKS:

• Maintain vigilance against pests and reports the need for special pest control
• Cleaning – dusting, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, buffering, windows, gum/dirt removal, trash, and so on
• Restrooms – restock toilet tissue and other dispensers, empty trash, sanitize fixtures, mirrors, toilets, etc.
• Trash – check all containers prior to moving them, recycling, maintain removal systems including rotation of garbage receptacles, and replace liners
• Moving – storing, packing, loading, repositioning furniture, and removing large objects off the floor 
• Proper use of industrial equipment like floor buffers, and industrial floor washers to clean and finish floors
• Fix minor building issues, like leaky faucets or faulty light switches
• Attend to flooded areas, incidental spills, and related clean-up work
• Restock carts and closets at the end of each shift - ensure completion of assigned cleaning schedule tasks within each shift
• Performs additional duties as assigned pertaining to trash and restroom concerns
